Selected Honors and Awards

Intel® Software Innovator, 2014
Intel Corporation
In late-2014, Intel presented me with the inaugural designation of Intel® Software Innovator. This recognition came in no small part due to the unprecidented three-consecutive wins I obtained through the Intel-sponsored global app competitions. In September 2014, I was invited to demonstrate and exhibit one of my award-winning apps at Intel's largest conference in San Francisco within the App Innovation Showcase.

All-In-One App Innovation Contest Grand Prize Winner, Winter 2013
Intel Corporation / Lenovo
In late-2013, Intel sponsored a second App Innovation Competition to develop applications for the high-end, 27" All-In-One computer systems by Lenovo. This was my third consecutive worldwide app development competition that I entered over the course of 12 months. For this contest, I redeveloped my mobile application Scribblify from the ground up to harness the All-In-One technology. Yet again, the team of judges chose my submission (Scribblify AIO) as the overall grand prize winner. The application was developed in 4-6 weeks using HTML5-based technologies; Intel featured this app in a technical case study.

Intel Perceptual Computing Challenge Grand Prize Winner, Spring 2013
Intel Corporation
To help promote a newly conceived perceptual camera and SDK, Intel hosted a global competition that called on developers to create functional prototypes using motion tracking and other features of the camera. After a short development period, Intel selected my entry (Magic Doodle Pad) as one of the three grand prize winners (the other two being from the UK and China). This prototype was developed in just two weeks using a new language and SDK that I had no prior experience with. This application was featured in an Intel-published case study and was redeveloped for IntelĀ® RealSenseā„¢ Technology in 2015.

Windows 8 & Ultrabook™ App Innovation Contest Grand Prize Winner (Gaming Category), 2012
Intel Corporation
In late-2012, Intel sponsored a worldwide competition for developers to create apps that utilized its forthcoming Ultrabook™ sensor technology. From a bank of 700 entrants and approximately 200 finalized submissions, the judges selected my game (Ballastic) as the winner in the Gaming category. The game was featured in a booklet at Consumer Electronics Show '13 as well as other publications including an Intel case study.

Golden Cattail Award, 2012
Marshfield Clinic
In recognition of the quality work that I completed at Marshfield Clinic, I received a "Golden Cattail Award" by Marshfield Clinic Corporate Communications.

Volunteer of the Year, 2011
North Wood County Historical Society
I have volunteered countless hours using my technical skills to archive and restore historical documents. This includes repairing old VHS tapes, audio recordings, and vintage photographs. In addition, I developed a new website for the non-profit organization. For this continued service, I was named "Volunteer of the Year" by the historical society.

A Deed Made a Difference, 2011
Marshfield Clinic
I was honored by The Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Marshfield Clinic, in part for being "responsive and helpful with any requests" and for "getting things done so quickly and with expertise."

Freeware Game of the Month, 2007
PCZone Magazine
As part of a 2006 online programming competition, I developed a 3D computer video game from the ground up. In January 2007, PCZone Magazine ("Britain's Best PC Games Mag") awarded my game "Freeware Game of the Month" and dedicated a full page review to it.

Volunteer Award for Community Service (Web Development), 2004
Healthy Lifestyles Marshfield Coalition
A portion of the Healthy Lifestyles Marshfield Coalition website was done free-of-charge as a community service and at a discounted rate because the organization is non-profit.

State Champion (3D Visualization and Animation), 2004
